A triumph of natural beauty and welcoming island spirit, the Caribbean has represented one of the world’s most alluring destinations for leisure and golf for as long as one can remember. Emerging within this oasis of barefoot luxury is a true golfer’s paradise called Jack’s Bay.

Set along the southeastern shore of Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas—on four miles of pristine pink-sand beach—the 1,200-acre private residential community known as Jack’s Bay strikes the eternally sought-after balance between natural beauty and modern luxury for homeowners and their guests. The Jack’s Bay site enjoys a unique topography with varied elevations including oceanside cliffs, creating a golf experience rich with bluff-top breezes and sweeping ocean views that is rare for the Caribbean region.

“We have the opportunity to build this course on one of the best pieces of property around the world,” said Tiger Woods on his first trip to Jack’s Bay.

Highlighting a suite of world-class resort amenities, Jack’s Bay will be the first-ever property to boast courses designed by both Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. Woods’s delightfully unconventional 10-hole short course, dubbed “The Playground” is slated to open in early 2025, while the Nicklaus Heritage course—the first of this designation in the world—is scheduled for a grand opening the following year.

Adding to its enticements for golfers, Jack’s Bay recently debuted its latest real estate offering, the Playground Residences. Positioned adjacent to both the Nicklaus course and the Tiger Woods–designed short course, which plays entirely along the ocean cliffside, these homes are the only residences within the community to offer immediate access to both golf courses and deliver stunning ocean vistas. With 33 major championships between them, Nicklaus and Woods personify golfing pedigree of the highest order. They’ve also proven to be champion course designers, which makes ownership in the Playground Residences a trophy all its own for the most discerning of golf enthusiasts.

The enclave of Playground Residences features just 23 of the two-, three-, and four-bedroom “turnkey” cottage-style homes, all with private pools and rooftop terraces. Each Playground Residence has been crafted to the height of barefoot luxury living, with an eye to perfecting simple pleasures—the angle of the light in the morning, the inviting nooks for relaxing with a book as day turns into evening, the sound of the ocean slipping through an open window at night. Needless to say, calling these residences home is akin to celebrating the easygoing, playful spirit of Eleuthera—where luxury and leisure blend seamlessly.

The details are just as important out on the golf courses. The holes on Woods’ Playground Course range from 71 to 163 yards, which offer a flexible layout that delivers a challenge to veterans of the game while being fun and welcoming to newcomers. Regardless of skill level, the Playground Course is designed for relaxed enjoyment, whether that’s playing barefoot, in a bathing suit, or with a cocktail in hand.

On the club’s Nicklaus Heritage Course—the first layout in the world with that designation—five holes trace along the Atlantic Ocean and another five deliver views of the Caribbean’s seafoam-green waters. “When I was given the opportunity to experience Jack’s Bay for the first time, we toured homesites with incredible golf and ocean views and then meandered our way along the coastline to holes 7, 8, 9, and 10. The setting reminded me of several oceanside golf courses I’ve seen, but in particular, Pebble Beach,” said Andy O’Brien, president of Nicklaus Brands.

With a routing that brings golfers along and across 40-foot-high cliffs that tumble down to the Atlantic Ocean, it’s easy to understand why some will likely draw parallels between Jack’s Bay and Pebble Beach. In both cases, the properties maximize their positioning in two of the most beautiful spots on Earth.

In addition to championship golf, Jack’s Bay offers endless exploration opportunities in the property’s hidden caves, blue holes, private meditation lake, natural coral reefs, sea turtle sanctuary, and two private islands. Jack’s Bay’s natural wonders are complemented by five-star amenities and culinary offerings, all delivered with signature beachy Bahamian spirit.

Residents of Jack’s Bay Club join an elite, multigenerational membership that offers a full range of captivating family experiences that typical beachfront resorts cannot provide. Paradise, indeed.
