ewar’s 15 Year Old has been named best Blended Scotch in the 13 to 20 Year Old category in the World Whiskies Awards. It comes as little surprise. The writers of Kingdom magazine have long recommended Dewar’s sumptuous 15 Year Old, with its fruity and floral malts up front, which are beautifully blended with a hint of smokier malts. Creamy, vanilla notes from grain whiskies add body and complexity and the completed blend is double aged. Honey and toffee flavors abound in a golden dram to treasure.

Dewar’s 15 Year Old was the first Dewar’s blend created by its Master Blender Stephanie MacLeod. MacLeod is only the seventh Master Blender to serve Dewar’s over 175 years of production and the first woman to hold the post, which she has done since 2006. MacLeod is the only person ever to be named Master Distiller of the Year three successive times.

The World Whiskies Award accolade was announced at a ceremony at the famous Balmoral Hotel in the heart of Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh, on December 2.
